OUR MISSION The Ceramic Garden Where Art is Therapy is dedicated to positively transform lives through the hand creation of beautiful functional clay art.

her story

It all began in 2005, when Christine Terranova purchased a small Paint Your Own Pottery studio in Northdale after several lay offs from Corporate.  This art business ignited her entrepreneurial spirit and quickly became her passion. Without knowing what a kiln was, she set off on a learning adventure, a process fueled by an innate love for teaching and a life style that allowed her to create, express herself, and connect with her community.

"Outgrowing the Northdale location already meant the business was going to head North, where the majority of our customers reside... and following them was important" and so our new venue became 19213 N. Dale Mabry Hwy in Lutz in 2019.

Her passion and joy grew exponentially when playing with and teaching clay in major venues in local and rural communities including for profit and non-profit institutions, corporations, public and private schools,  and communities.

Christine is grateful to be fulfilling her purpose in life and continues to positively impact the lives of thousands of adults, teens, and children with her unique form of teaching pottery and art. She's helped grown ups realize their dreams of opening their own art studios and is thrilled for the students she's had who have chosen to attend art colleges or have become teachers. She thinks that doing what you love brings the most satisfaction in one's life because it fulfils one's purpose and brings happiness, the secret to one's physical, emotional, and mental health.

At The Ceramic Garden, Where Art is Therapy,  you don't need to be an artist to create. You don't need motivation. You just need inspiration. Once you ease into a hobby where you create with your hands, you relax, tap into your playful child and find the patience to ignite that creative fire burning in the pit of your stomach.  As the saying goes, time flies when you're having fun, and 2026 marks our 21st year in business! Our Anniversary celebration is on May 2nd, from 1-8 pm. Don't be shy. Stop by to check us out and/or to try a mini-pottery wheel class. Beware... You might become addicted to clay, or the feeling of touching clay, whichever comes first!

Artfully yours,

Christine Terranova, Owner
